12/21/11

Today my brother and I made a playdate (trying to use this term now) with our cousins. I woke up late unfortunately and had to rush leaving. Car was coding so we had to take a shuttle all the way to Ayala. It was so traffic but while in transit, I managed to catch the conversation of a man talking to some person about where they wanna spend their holidays. My thoughts? Can I join you?

Got to Makati Med at around 11ish and visited Luis cause he got confined. He’s all better thank Goodness and while in the room we had a large planning session on what to do for the day and ended up with zippo. Tita Gigi sponsored lunch (Yeay us!) and we then walked all the way to Greenbelt; all the while debating on where to eat. This took forever. Finally couldn’t find a buffalo wings place and decided to eat at California Pizza Kitchen. End result: heaven in tummy. Nomnomnom.

Being the poor children we are we decided to go window shopping all the way to F21 until it was around 2 pm. Said our byes and Pao and I were off to take the train back.

The train…oh wow.

To be perfectly honest I love trains. I do. even the old stinky and dilapidated ones we have here. I just love riding them. Period. This afternoon though, I made the grave mistake of riding in the men’s coach with Pao. BAD IDEA. There were lots of girls there too but damnit. What was I thinking? Around two stations in, the smell of men and really really overworked men filled the recycled air conditioned air. There was a lot of squishing and pushing and again, smelling. Thank God they all faced away from me and their backpacks were the ones touching me. And just when I can barely breathe and I had to hold on to Pao’s sleeve fo support, the train’s lights go off, the aircon stops and the train comes to a halt. One station away. Why nowww? Anyway, I survived through it and laughed it out with Pao.

Had to roam around Gateway cause my shift for the typhoon relief operations in school starts at 5pm. I wanted my brother to get me my 2nd choice Starbucks tumbler (I had to add the e to that, I almost published this as tumblr) but luckily I didn’t settle cause I found the one I wanted in Katip. Hee. Pao left me alone (huhu) and headed home while I loitered and read ‘One Day’ which is actually turning out pretty well.

I was on the escalators going to the food court when a lady tapped my shoulder and asked for P12. Her wallet was stolen according to her and so she needed fare for the train ride home. I obliged and gave her money. But I realized that now I had no money left to buy my own fare since I had a large bill and the ticketing place always asks for smaller change. This meant I had to buy something to loosen it up and being the cheapskate that I am, I bought a P10 bottle of water. But when I got to the ticketing place, I found out they had more than enough to give me change… right. Exciting detail Nikka….moving on.

Got to Katip and as mentioned, walked to Starbucks to get that tumblr I wanted. I got one of the last three. Yes! I decided not to take a trike anymore going to school so I walked the stretch of Katipunan all the way to gate three and to the ASOG offices to volunteer for the Sendong Relief Operations. I thought I was going to be really alone but turns out lots of sophomore Hsc peeps were there. I had so much fun sorting and folding and looking at the donated late 70’s, 80’s and 90’s clothing. (Btw, plugging the relief operations, let’s all please do our part and help our brothers and sisters in the south. Donate and volunteer! :D)

Got home to tell the parents about the exciting escapades of the day and finally took a well deserved shower, put a good movie on and painted my nails (really Nikka, the details are exhilarating)

Overall a very fun, tiring, stinky and worthwhile day.

A very happy camper signing off.
